Fascias and soffits: the boards holding your gutters up
Replace them and the whole roofline looks new. Leave them and the rot spreads into the rafter ends behind.
- Rotten timber removed rather than boarded over

Why replace
Capping over rot is not a repair
The cheapest quote you will get involves screwing new plastic over the old timber. It looks identical on day one and it is the reason the rafter ends fail.
Rotten timber that gets covered keeps rotting, and it takes the rafter feet with it. Capping also usually blocks the ventilation gap, which is what let the roof space breathe.
We strip the old boards off, look at the rafter ends, replace what has gone and fit new fascias and soffits with ventilation built back in. It costs more and it is the job actually being done.
- Old boards stripped rather than capped over
- Rafter ends inspected and repaired where needed
- Continuous or vented soffits to keep the roof breathing
- Guttering rehung to proper falls

What we do
The rooftrim work

Rotten rafter feet cut back and replaced before anything new goes on.
Ventilation
Vented soffits so the roof space breathes rather than sweating.
New fascias
Full replacement boards, in white, black, grey and woodgrain finishes.
Guttering
Rehung to the correct fall, or replaced while the access is there.
10 year guarantee
Everything we supply and install is covered.
Worth knowing
Ventilation is not optional
A roof space needs air moving through it, and the soffit is usually where that air gets in.
Block it — with capping boards, with insulation stuffed into the eaves, or with solid soffits where vented ones are needed — and moisture builds up in the loft. Over a few winters that shows as damp timber and mould on the felt.
We work out what ventilation the roof needs and build it back in as part of the job rather than treating it as a detail.

Rooftrim
The rest of the roofline
Fascias, soffits, guttering and bargeboards are one job in practice.

Cladding
uPVC and composite cladding that covers a tired elevation and never needs painting again.

Soffits and Fascias
The boards behind your guttering. Replace them and the whole roofline looks new — and stops rotting.

Guttering and Downpipes
Seamless replacement guttering sized for the roof, so water goes where it should rather than down the wall.

Bargeboards
The boards up the slope of a gable. Usually the first rooftrim to fail, and the most visible when it does.
